What We Do
The Leprosy Mission New Zealand works with people affected by leprosy, aware that teaching people about the disease and reducing stigma are just as important as diagnosing and curing it. Together with local partners and New Zealand supporters we are working towards a life of dignity for all people experiencing leprosy by eradicating both its causes and its effects.
Projects focus on medical and health services, sustainable community development, advocacy and education. They all help to reduce poverty. Why? Because most of those affected by leprosy are the poorest of the poor who face a daily struggle to survive, let alone obtain the resources needed for a brighter future.
