The Leprosy Mission New Zealand is a small office of just 13 staff that is based in Auckland.

Executive Director - Brent Morgan

Working to change the lives of those living in poverty is integral to Brent's Christian faith.  He takes inspiration from the leprosy-affected people he meets in the developing world and from the generosity of kiwis at home. Prior to joining the Leprosy Mission, Brent was Director of International Programmes at World Vision.  Before this he worked for nineteen years in the pharmaceutical industry including six years as a Managing Director in India. Brent originally qualified as a Radiographer and holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Massey University and an MBA from Henley Management College (UK). His wife Tracy is a Baptist Pastor and they have three children; Hayley (20), Courtney (18), and Curtis (16).  Outside of work, Brent tries to stay fit by jogging and going to the gym (which he deems a necessity) but his main sporting pastime is golf.

Marketing Manager - Lisa McLaren

Lisa heads the marketing & fundraising department and is responsible for communicating with the New Zealand public and raising funds from individual supporters. Originally from the UK, Lisa and her husband traded pebbly Brighton beach on the south coast of England, for the rugged sandy beaches and bush on the west coast of Auckland. Lisa has a solid marketing background in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors, and has worked with a range of UK charities such as Liveability, Barnardo's, Anti-slavery International and Refugee Action, before joining the Leprosy Mission three years ago. All of these causes have inspired Lisa to want to help improve the lives' of others, especially the poorest of the poor and those living with leprosy.  When not at work, keeping fit at the gym and exploring beautiful New Zealand are favourite pastimes.

Marketing Manager - Bruce Waldin

For the last 13 years Bruce has had Marketing and Fundraising leadership roles at World Vision New Zealand and the Heart Foundation. He feels privileged to be able to work part-time in the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications area of the Leprosy Mission New Zealand while Lisa is on maternity leave. Fundraising for charities is getting more and more challenging, but he is constantly amazed at the generosity of everyday New Zealanders who donate money and time to the causes they care about. He would like to thank everyone for their valued support of the life-changing work of the Leprosy Mission New Zealand.

Donor Development Manager - Gillian Whitley

Gillian started working with the Leprosy Mission early in 2007, connecting with supporters living in the top end of the North Island from her base on the North Shore of Auckland. In 2009 she took responsibility for developing relationships with supporters throughout New Zealand including individuals, Trusts, churches, schools and Christian organisations & groups.  Her role is to keep long time and new supporters updated about the Leprosy Mission's work and to manage various activities including the Youth Advocate Scholarships, Running 4 Rights and Supporter Tours. Gillian travelled to Bangladesh in 2009 to witness the impact of LMNZ projects in Chittagong and to meet with leprosy-affected people and their families who have had their lives positively changed as a direct result of the support from New Zealand.

Programmes Manager - Andrew Harding

Andrew considers himself lucky that his interests and work are closely related. He enjoys meeting intriguing characters, building up close relationships with people from all around the world and trying to work in partnership with people from different cultures and faiths. His responsibilities are reminding people of the importance of people and empowerment and that they have a right to be in charge of their lives, and he helps to manage LMNZ's work in India, Ethiopia, Timor Leste and Nepal. He likes working in the field, but he also enjoys coming home to New Zealand. His family moved here from the UK at the beginning of 2006 because his partner got a teaching job in Auckland, and LMNZ was the first job Andrew applied for. All three of his children seem happy living here, but he waits to see where they will end up. He cooks to relax.

Programmes Manager - Matt Halsey

Matt has worked in international development for around 10 years - both overseas (living in Laos) and from New Zealand (spending a lot of time in the tiny Pacific nation of Kiribati). Matt loves working with LMNZ and being part of some of TLM's great work around the world.  His responsibilities include managing LMNZ's work in Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh and China. As a Programmes Manager Matt gets to work with a great team in New Zealand and spend time with his wife and two young girls, while at the same time enjoying regular visits to partners overseas, the part of the job which he finds most rewarding.

Ethnic Communities Ambassador - Michael Sheppard

Michael comes from a management background in the pharmaceutical and optical industries and spent two years at World Vision as their Ethnic Communities Ambassador. Now an invaluable volunteer with LMNZ, he works with the New Zealand communities from India, China, Nepal and other countries where we are present to advise the people of our projects and to receive their advice on how we can further our work.

Supporter Services Team Leader - Indira Bhana

Indira has worked in the non-for-profit industry over the last 3 years and has been with the Leprosy Mission for over a year now. Her role involves supervising the supporter services team, developing donor care and maintaining the Raisers Edge database. Indira likes working at the Mission because of the good work that is being done overseas by Leprosy Mission staff, as well as having contact with some of the Mission's wonderful supporters. She enjoys oil-painting socially with her painting group, and relaxing with a good book or movie.

Moneybox Coordinator - Carolyn Currie

Carolyn has been working for Leprosy Mission NZ since June 2007.  Her main jobs include processing donations, mail and co-ordinating the many Moneybox collectors that we have throughout New Zealand.  She also administrates most of the book orders that we sell from our selection of encouraging and uplifting books.  Carolyn is a keen baker who enjoys helping people in need by providing a meal for them and serving on the crèche roster at church.

Personal Assistant to Management Team - Ngaira Lynch

Ngaira started working with the Leprosy Mission in October 2004 in a temporary capacity to help with the then Trading Department's Christmas rush; in 2005 she became permanent staff and her role changed to personal assistant. Ngaira was one of the Morph Team members in 2005 who visited Delhi, Faizabad, Muzaffarpur and Kolkata, witnessing firsthand the life changing work that the leprosy mission carries out for leprosy-affected individuals and families. She is mother to three daughters and grandmother to a 4 year old and a 3 year old and loves to travel with her husband whenever and wherever she can.

Finance Manager - Martin Malkaney

Martin Malkaney looks after the finances and resources of the Mission, and has been in the role since January 2002. He came to NZ from Mumbai, India; where he ran a small business involved with IT and accounting software development and support. He enjoys his current work and is undertaking further studies to keep up with changes in the accounting world. In his own time Martin is an avid sports fan and spends his weekends watching (not playing) different sports. Cricket, rugby and tennis are his top three favourites. He along with his wife and two boys live in West Auckland.

Accounts Clerk - Sylvia Massey-Borman

Sylvia has been with the Leprosy Mission since 1998, starting off as co-ordinator for the then Little Angels Knitwear shop. Since then she has had many different roles in the administration office such as receptionist, donation data processing and general duties. She loves her current part time work as accounts clerk for the Leprosy Mission. She and her husband emigrated from England in 1973 as newly-weds and never looked back, and now have two married sons and recently welcomed their fifth grandchild into the family.

Supporter Services Representative - Heather Warne

Heather joins us from a background in the performing arts. She began work in a professional capacity at LMNZ in June 2011 after some months as a regular volunteer. Having grown up in a family that have long been involved in the Leprosy Mission and seeing the effects of leprosy first hand in India as a child, the work of the Mission was familiar to her and the focus on Christ as a model endeared to her a role in which she hopes to grow and develop further skills. She enjoys singing, acting, dancing, learning languages and discovering new things.

Communications and Marketing Coordinator - Tracey Adamson

Tracey joined us with a two year background in commercial marketing assistant/coordinator roles.  While studying towards her Bachelor of Business studies at Massey University in Palmerston North she discovered her passion for marketing and the non-profit sector.  Tracey has always wanted to work in the non profit sector and is really excited to finally be here working with us.  In her spare time she enjoys catching up with friends and family, attending church, travelling, reading and writing on her blog.
