Just a small investment can provide a Nepalese family struggling to cope with the effects of leprosy with beehives, plenty of bees, training in beekeeping and a honey extractor. The income generated from the honey can be used for nutritious food, healthcare, and school fees.

A sweeter future

27-year-old Sabita Ghiseng, who has been cured of leprosy, now earns a good living thanks to her Really Good Gift. She earns an income from her beehives by selling a range of honey products. She says, "I now have confidence in myself, and I can send my child to school." Sabita's confidence has grown to the extent that she is now setting up a small guest house, using her Busy beehive profit, which in itself is challenging the stigma of leprosy in her community.
