"I will fulfill my parents dreams of being successful"
Laxmi is a bubbly, 19-year-old computer applications student at the Vocational Training Centre in Faizabad. Her hands have been affected by leprosy, but she has managed to learn to type. This has opened up a whole new world of opportunity for her. She is learning how to use computers, which will be a great asset to her family back home in Rajasthan.
A smiling example
Laxmi has been transformed from a quiet, nervous girl, into a positive, focussed young woman. The vocational training has given her confidence in her future, while essential life skills have helped her to overcome the shame associated with leprosy.
She is looking forward to returning home after her course, and making her family proud of her.
Please help The Leprosy Mission work hand in hand with people affected by leprosy and give a gift today.
