Funding

Through the generous support of New Zealanders, The Leprosy Mission New Zealand has, for almost 100 years, supported programmes which work towards eradicating the causes and consequences of leprosy.  Without these contributions from the New Zealand public our essential work would not be able to continue, and because every 2 minutes someone in the world is still being diagnosed with leprosy this continued support is just as important as ever.

The Leprosy Mission New Zealand endeavours to spend every dollar in an honest and appropriate way. You too can help eradicate the causes and consequences of leprosy, through Donations, leaving a gift in your Will, Volunteering, or learning more and being an Advocate of this cause.

NZAID:

The New Zealand Government assists in the work of New Zealand registered Non Government Organisations (NGO's) though the NZAID KOHA programme (www.nzaid.govt.nz).

For projects that fulfil the strict criteria of KOHA funding, the New Zealand Government will match supporter funds 4:1 which means that for every $1 donated by supporters, NZ AID will provide an additional $4.   This is an excellent way for the New Zealand tax payer to support the good work of New Zealand Aid organisations.

KOHA PICD is the funding scheme for New Zealand NGO's working overseas.  KOHA is an acronym for the Maori title: Kaihono hei Oranga Hapori o te Ao.  The English name is Partnerships for International Community Development (PICD),  the scheme is commonly referred to as KOHA.
