The Leprosy Mission works to strengthen the resources and skills of local partner organisations.   This means the projects they run can succeed at the grassroots level while the bigger picture remains.  The Leprosy Mission New Zealand has partner relationships with national leprosy organisations such as ENAPAL (Ethiopian National Association of People Affected by Leprosy) and HANDA (a rehabilitation and welfare association working with people affected by leprosy in China).  Both are run by local people and involve those directly affected by the disease.  ENAPAL is comprised almost entirely of such people.

 
Over the years The Leprosy Mission New Zealand has worked alongside these organisations to help with training, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge sharing. In these and other ways we have worked together to reach our goals sustainably and effectively.
